WHY SHOULD YOU BE A WIDS NIGERIA MENTEE?

• You get connected to African Industry experts – People that have been where you currently are.

• You get guidance on what classes to take and how to position yourself to excel both in school and afterward.

• It is an opportunity to Network. You would have the opportunity to network with our community of both mentors and mentees, who work in different companies and go to school in different locations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• Be studying or a graduate of Computer Science or a related field.

• Be Python Language proficient.

• Devote an hour per month to connect with the mentor and mentee pod. Mentor-mentee meetings can be held in person or over the phone or via video call via Whatsapp/Skype/Hangouts/FaceTime.

• Attend at least 10 WiDS Nigeria workshop sessions during the year.

• Have a predefined academic or career goal to pursue the entire duration of the mentorship program.

• Complete and submit monthly reports detailing any progress made toward achieving your predefined goal(s).

• Be willing to receive advice and guidance from a mentor in order to help you build a great foundation to start your career in Tech.

• Be an active contributor in the WiDS Nigeria community group – this may include posting relevant content, sharing opportunities, asking questions, or helping other members with their questions.
