WHY SHOULD YOU BE A WIDS NIGERIA MENTOR? 

• It is one way for you to give back, especially to young Africans who were once in your shoes.

• It is a learning opportunity – this is an opportunity for you to stay connected to students in college and keep up to date with the latest technologies being taught in school these days.

• It is an opportunity to Network. You would have the opportunity to network with our community of both mentors and mentees, who work in different companies and go to school in different locations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Work in the Tech industry (you should have some prior coding experience)

• Devote an hour per month to connect with your mentees. Mentor-Mentee meetings can be held in person or over the phone or via video call via Whatsapp/Skype/Hangouts/FaceTime.

  • Present at one WiDS Nigeria Workshop session during the program. Your WiDS Nigeria Workshop session will be an event that is hosted live or a profile interview about you and your work.

• Review your mentees’ monthly assignments and reports.

• Be an active contributor to the WiDS Nigeria community. Being active includes posting relevant content, sharing your expertise, and helping other members with their questions.

• Read and follow the mentorship program curriculum.
